E-Bills and Financial Aid
Fall Semester bills are now available online through MyPack Portal. You can view a .pdf copy of the bill on the Account Summary page by clicking on the most recent date under Previous Billing Statements. If you've been awarded financial aid and you have ACCEPTED the aid you were offered, then you should see the amount listed as "Estimated Financial Aid" on the .pdf version of your bill. In addition, it will be listed as "Pending Financial Aid" on your Account Summary page on MyPack Portal.
Don't see any financial aid listed? Be sure that you were awarded aid and that you have accepted the aid you were offered.
Any financial aid that is awarded after the bill is created will never appear on the .pdf version of your bill, but it is updated daily on the Account Summary page. You can calculate how much to pay by subracting the "Pending Financial Aid" from the "Outstanding Charges & Deposits."
**Changes in summer disbursements**
Summer financial aid funds will not be disbursed until the day following the last day to drop/add classes each term (after your enrollment for each term has been confirmed). For first session, aid funds will disburse to your student account with the Cashier's Office on or after 5/21 and for second session aid funds will disburse to your student account with the Cashier's Office on or after 7/2. Note that you will receive your refund 2-3 business days after receipt in the Cashier's Office. Please be aware the the Memorial Day holiday and the Independence Day banking holidays will likely delay your refund until the second week of class.
Still paying your tuition in person?
Effective April 6, 2009, the University Cashier's Office will no longer be able to accept payment by cash/check in the Harris Hall office. Please contact the Cashier's Office for more information on payment options.
2009-10 update
Don't forget! In order to apply for aid for the 2009-10 academic year, you need to complete the FAFSA form NC State's priority filing date is March 1, so apply early to receive consideration for all types of aid.
We anticipate sending award information to new freshmen in early April, and to continuing students in early June. We must gather information about your aid from a variety of sources - federal, state, outside scholarships, and departmental scholarships. We want your award letter to give you a complete picture of all the aid you're eligible for. If you're already at NC State, we must verify that you meet the requirements of the Satisfactory Academic Progress policy before we can award any aid for next year.

Recently, a number of NC State students and families have received letters in the mail soliciting money to apply for scholarships and financial aid.
NC State’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid would like to remind you that you should never pay to apply for scholarships, grants or any type of financial assistance. Please contact us immediately if you have any questions regarding mailings or emails that ask for you to pay money in order to receive a scholarship. Our staff is always available to help direct you to free scholarship search resources and to assist you in the process of applying for federal, state, and institutional aid. Our scholarships pages are a great way to search for outside scholarships and grants.
In addition, always go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid. NC State does not require any applications that charge a fee to apply for financial aid.
The letters and emails you receive may claim an affiliation with NC State, but our university does not use or work with these companies. Again, if you have any doubt please check with our office.
