Minimum Workstation Hardware and Software Requirements

                       

                        Hardware

 

-  800 MHz Pentium or equivalent processor (Pentium 166 MHz minimum)

-  256 MB RAM (minimum of 64 MB); browser instances use 10 MB of memory each

-  VGA controller High Color (16 bit); monitor display resolution should be set to a  

                minimum of 800x600.

 

 

Note:  The above specifications are minimum requirements for the Administrative Portal only.  Other applications may have higher CPU and memory requirements.

Client Operating System and Web Browser Certifications

 

RMIS supports the following browsers on the Administrative Portal/Financials 8.x/HR8.X:

- Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6 on Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP

 

RMIS performs basic testing on the following browsers on the Administrative Portal/Financials 8.x/HR8.X:

- Netscape 7 on Windows 2000 and Windows XP

- Mozilla 1.7 and above on Windows 2000 and Windows XP

- Safari 1.0 and above on Macintosh OS 9 and above

Unfortunately, RMIS does not have the resources to commit to this same level of testing and troubleshooting for browsers/operating systems not found on the RMIS Supported Platforms list (Mozilla/Linux, Safari/Mac OS, etc.), even if those platforms are certified by PeopleSoft.  The vendor, PeopleSoft, denotes Internet Explorer as the clear leader in performance and user interface quality.  For those customers where performance and reliability are key, Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, or 6 is the recommended web browser running on Windows NT, 2000, or XP.  This combination provides what is believed as an optimal experience.  However, following are the combinations of web browser and client operating systems the vendor has certified for all PeopleSoft 8 applications on PeopleTools 8.4.3:

- Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 98, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP

- Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5 on Windows NT 4, Windows 9x, and Windows 2000

- Internet Explorer 5 on Mac OS 7.6.1 and above

- Netscape Navigator 6.2 on Win 9x, NT 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP

- Netscape Communicator 4.7x on NT 4, Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Linux, UNIX and Mac OS 7.6.1 and above
