Question: What are the dates of this
year's annual inventory?
Answer: CAMS Inventory Home Page.
Question: I am having problems logging
on to CDs (CAMS online system). What should I do?
Answer: If you are having problems logging on to CDs, make sure
of the following:
1) You are using Internet Explorer.
2) You are logging on using your Sybase
ID (not your Unity ID) and Sybase password. Your sybase
ID should begin with the letter "n".
3) You are logging on in lowercase letters.
If you are still having problems, it
is likely you do not have access to CDs See the CDs
manual for instructions on how to get access.
Question: How can I sort by room on
my inventory?
Answer: Simply sort by building, and your rooms will be sorted
within each building number.
Question: How do I print my inventory?
Answer: Click the
button on your inventory screen (not the browser icon).
You will then see your listing in a printer-friendly format. It
is recommended that your inventory be printed in landscape orientation.
You may need to press the Show All button at the top of your screen
to see all the assets.
Question: Do I have to update my
inventory in the order it is sorted?
Answer: No. You can update your assets in any order. Simply click
on the status and update your assets as you have the information
available.
Question: What items should I update
as the CAMS coordinator?
Answer: You should update the building and room information,
condition code, in use field, and responsible person field. You
do not need to make a note to the CAMS department when you update
these items. These items are available year-round for you to update
as changes occur in your department.
Question: I have finished updating
all my assets. How can I print my final report?
Answer: Once you have updated the status for all your assets,
you must submit your inventory before you will see the option
to print your final report. Be sure to sign the report and get
the department head to sign the report as well
Question: Why doesn't my final report
show all the assets I inventoried?
Answer: The final report only lists inventory items that had
a status other than "Correct as Is" selected.
Question: Why are lost or stolen
items still showing up on my inventory?
Answer: Lost or stolen items remain on your inventory listing
for one year after you report them as lost or stolen. If the items
is found during this time period, please contact CAMS and we will
reset the status of your asset.
Question: What information does
CAMS need when I surplus an item?
Answer: When you surplus an item, please remember to always list
the CAMS numbers on the Surplus form.
Question: One of my assets is no
longer worth the price listed on CAMS. Can this amount be changed?
Answer: No this amount can not be changed. The cost you see listed
on your inventory report is the original cost of the asset when
it was purchased. CAMS only lists assets at their original cost.
We do not make adjustments for the current value of an item.
Question: How do I dispose of an
asset we no longer want? Can I throw it away?
Answer: If you no longer want an item, you should fill out a
surplus form and send the item to Surplus. Do not throw away an
items.
