First OIT Expo was big success - Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who helped make the first OIT Expo a success.
Approximately 1,100 faculty, staff and students attended the expo, which featured 51 exhibit booths and 47 breakout sessions held throughout the day.
NC State's new Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and CIO, Dr. Marc Hoit, gave the keynote address,“IT Doesn’t Matter: Creative IT Does.”

This year our Keynote speaker was Dr. Marc Hoit, NC State's new Vice Chancellor for Information Technology.

More About Dr. Hoit...

In NC State’s evolving world of information technology, Dr. Marc I. Hoit will be charting new courses. Hoit has been named NC State’s first vice chancellor for information technology/chief information officer (CIO), a new position established to develop and execute a progressive information technology strategy for the university. His position is effective September 1st.

As CIO, Hoit also will lead the Office of Information Technology - a newly formed central IT organization - where he will direct the work of more than 300 professional and support staff and oversee a budget in excess of $40 million. He will have overall responsibility for research, academic, and administrative IT activities.

As this year’s OIT Expo 2008 Keynote speaker, Dr. Hoit will deliver his vision and goals for OIT from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th in Stewart Theatre, Talley Student Center, NC State campus. Everyone is welcome to attend.
