Grants

There are two basic types of Financial Aid: gift funds (money that does not need to be repaid) and self-help funds (money that is borrowed and must be repaid, or earned while enrolled).

NC State awards grant funding from a variety of sources including funds from the federal government, funds from the State of North Carolina, and institutional funds from NC State University.

Students do not need to apply separately for grants. You are considered automatically based on the information when you complete your application for aid (FAFSA).
