- The State Health Plan offers three PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans to choose from based. Eligible EPA/SPA employees can select a plan based on individual and family needs. The State Health Plan also includes a prescription drug benefit.
- Children/NC Health Choice
Families whose income is not sufficient to afford rising health insurance premiums may be able to receive free or reduced-price comprehensive health care for their children through the this plan.
- Post-Doc Plan
Health insurance is offered to all EPA employees of NC State with a title of Research/ Teaching Associate or Intern/Resident (Post Doc) through the this plan.
- NC Flex
Faculty and staff are offered a variety of pre-tax benefit plans to meet individual and family needs. NCFlex plans offer an immediate tax break and excellent benefits.
- NC Flex-Dental: Two traditional, open provider access plans include a high option with more comprehensive care including children's orthodontic benefits and a low option plan covering basic services.
- NC Flex-Vision: Two plans are available: the first including exams and materials, and the second, including materials only. In-network benefits are available through Superior Vision Services providers.
- NC Flex-Cancer: Similar to the supplemental medical plan, benefits are paid directly to the covered member for services related to the treatment of cancer and 29 other specific diseases.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: FSAs are an excellent way to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified dependent day care and/or out-of-pocket health care related expenses.
