Management Referrals

Management may refer an employee as a direct result of unacceptable job performance or personal conduct, potential workplace violence, fitness-for-duty evaluations, or any other issue deemed appropriate by management and Employee Relations.

Contact Employee Relations, at 515-6575 for more information.

Management is responsible for contacting Employee Relations to implement a management referral. Once management and ER determine that a mandatory management referral is necessary, Deer Oaks will provide confidential and professional assessment services for referred employees.

Employees who are referred by management participate in a face-to-face assessment to arrive at a comprehensive determination of the nature of the issues contributing to the problem. Deer Oaks, in consultation with Employee Relations and management, will recommend appropriate treatment and referral.

In cases involving mandatory management referrals, Deer Oaks provides follow-up services to ensure compliance with recommendations for treatment. In these instances, Deer Oaks also communicates regularly with Employee Relations and local management to share compliance and appropriate progress information. The level and intensity of case management will vary based on the type of referral and the severity of the employee's issue. Employees are responsible for the costs of counseling and other related services that are necessary as a result of a management referral.
