Job Variety

In recent years, UTS has enjoyed tremendous growth both in the number of qualified employees working for us and the number of campus departments using our services. The types of temporary help we provide includes, but is not limited to

  • Clerical - reception, secretarial, accounting, word processing, cashiering
  • Service - food service, housekeeping, labor, landscaping, maintenance
  • Skilled Trades - electrical, carpentry, plumbing
  • Technical - research, laboratory, computer operation, animal care
  • Other - writing/editing, illustrating, engineering

Screening

UTS staff carefully screen prospective employees to best match their skills and abilities to the needs of the campus departments. This screening process includes

  • A personal interview,
  • Possible clerical skills testing,
  • Reference checks, and
  • Possible criminal background checks.

Flexible Scheduling

We offer you the flexibility of working part-time or full-time in positions with durations of several days, weeks, or months. We can accommodate candidates interested in short-term and long-term work. Apply with us whether you are between jobs, retired, or looking for summer/vacation employment.

In addition, working in temporary assignments provides University work experience you can add to your application. This is a plus when applying for permanent positions. UTS also sponsors workshops and meetings to provide additional information regarding the employment process at NC State.
