How
to purchase textbooks on-line:
1)
CLICK
HERE to place an on-line order for Textbooks.
2)
All On-line Textbook Orders must have an account created based on your
9 digit NCSU ID number. You must enter all 9 digits including
leading zeros. Do not enter your Social Security Number. To create
an account, click on the "CREATE NEW ACCOUNT" button. Enter a
password for your account then fill in the remaining account
information. Click the "SAVE Changes" button at the bottom to
create your account. If you have a problem creating your account call
(919) 515-2161 for assistance.
3)
Select your first Term, Department, Course and Section number.
4) Check
the "Add?" option for the books you want.
5)
Select NEW or USED for each book you want.
6) Designate whether the bookstore staff may substitute NEW books if
used books are not available by selecting either "OK to Substitute" or
"No Substitutions" for each book you want.
(Be
very careful with this option as it is often overlooked and will
result in a delay in getting your materials if "Do Not Substitute"
is chosen. Often, the reason that there are no used books on the
shelf cannot be avoided. New edition textbooks, course packs,
study guides and limited license software books are never available
used. The bookstore staff will not automatically fill the order
with the new book if the order says "Do Not Substitute."
In the case of a "Do Not Substitute" order, if the used
book is not available, the entire order is put aside and the student
is e-mailed for permission to substitute. In most cases, the response
from the student is "Just fill the order with a new book
because I need my books in a hurry.")
7)
Click "Add to Cart". Your selections will appear in the right hand
column.
8)
If you have additional courses, select your next Term, Department, Course and
Section number.
9)
Click "Checkout" under your selections in the right hand column.
10)
In the "Shipping:" box, select "Pickup
in store"
if you want the order held for pick up. Select between the other
shipping methods if you want us to mail the books to you.
** Note - Orders designated "2nd Business Day" and "Next Business"
shipping must be placed before 12 noon.
CLICK
HERE to determine how long a UPS package will take
if shipped via UPS Ground Service.
11) If you are a new user, register your new account -
If you are a returning user, log in.
12)
Enter your billing and shipping information and click "Continue". If you
have any special requirements that the bookstore staff will need to
know to fulfill your order, enter these in the "Customer Notes"
block. For example, if you only want books that
are required for your course but could not make a determination from
the list... just let us know.
13)
Click "Place Order".
14) If you still have questions, please feel free to call
(919) 515-2161 for assistance.
