NC State
University will evaluate and develop a comprehensive
Organizational Resilience Program that encompasses its
ERP, client server and mainframe environments.
The program must address the needs of the University
in terms of people, process, and technology and
provide the framework for the Business Continuity
Plan.
Scope (People, Process, and Technology)
-
Ensure that all key personnel are identified and
included in the procedural steps to recover
the environment and applications required to
support NC State University. This would include
the bridge to the BCP that will leverage the
same people to recover critical business processes
that need to be operational without the
support of the information systems environment.
-
Evaluate the hardware, software and network environment that is the foundation of the ERP and client server environments.
-
Identify core applications that drive critical processes of the University.
-
Evaluate the current state of the application environment and its impact on the DRP/BCP.
-
Evaluate
the communication structure between
information technology and University Operations.
Develop a DRP/BCP committee and setup the initial
meeting. Evaluate the existing interaction
among units within the Office
of Information Technology.
-
Update the existing Mainframe plan to include changes since the last plan was compiled, tested, and implemented.
-
Link the revised mainframe environment plan to the ERP and client server plans to ensure full coverage of NC State's infrastructure.
-
Evaluate the viability of enlisting a third party to support the ERP and client server aspects of the DRP.
-
Develop a plan that provides the least amount of time to resume information technology at a degraded state.
