Student Information System Release 1
On Monday, September 10, release one of the new NC State Student Information System (SIS) goes live for the campus. Some faculty and staff will notice changes in the way you do your daily work while others will not be affected until a later date. This message helps prepare those for whom changes are taking place on September 10.
How Does it Affect Me?
Faculty/Admin Access
The Faculty Login and Staff/Administrative Access features on the Registration and Records website will be maintained throughout the initial release of the new Student Information System.
The way reports and information are found in these systems will stay the same. However, the look of these items will change. Faculty Login and Staff/Administrative Access will be delivered through the new MyPack Portal.

There will be two ways to locate Faculty Login and Staff/Administrative Access.
- You can continue to reach Faculty Login and Staff/Administrative Access via the Registration and Records homepage by selecting Faculty/Staff Access from the main menu. Once you have done so, you will need to click on the MyPack logo to log into the system.
If you want to skip a step, from the Registration and Records homepage simply click the MyPack Portal icon where the Pack Tracks icon used to be.
- From the new NC State homepage, simply select MyPack Portal from the header at the top of the screen.

Once you have used your Unity ID and password to log into the portal, you can select Student Information System from the main menu or use the Faculty/Staff tab. Then select either Faculty Services or Admin Services as usual.
Admin Services has the same menu items available as users had in the previous version.

Faculty Services has the same items with a new structure, dividing advising (Advisement) and course related (Faculty Center) duties.

Students
On September 10, 2007, all students will begin using MyPack Portal for all of their Pack Tracks (Registration, Grades, etc), Student Financial and Personal Information needs. Prior to the change, information on the new system including tutorials on how to conduct standard business will be available from the Registration and Records website. Until September 10th, students should continue to use Pack Tracks as usual.

MyPack Portal Login
If you have not logged into a campus system using your Unity ID since the Spring semester, you may be required to change your password upon your initial attempt.
We encourage you to check your password by logging into the Portal. Please visit MyPack Portal before September 10, 2007 to check your password and change it if needed. If you need to change your password, you will be able to connect to the Unity Password change page.
A service is available to allow you to identify yourself to the Help Desk for a password reset over the phone. The UIA (User Identification and Authorization) System allows you to set up several questions and answers that you can use to identify yourself over the phone to the Help Desk. We recommend that you set up your questions and answers after you successfully change your password.
