Meet
Ashley
Ashley didn't choose her major until the end of her
first semester at NC State. Now a junior enrolled in the College
of Textiles, Ashley speaks confidently about soft goods marketing,
operations management and international trade. The Greensboro,
NC, native is actively involved in several of the College's student
organizations, including its professional fraternity and honor
society.
On weekends, Ashley and friends head to Raleigh's
Lake Johnson and other nearby parks for recreation and relaxation.
And like thousands of students, Ashley's an avid fan of the Wolfpack.
"Football games are my favorite, and also basketball games.
About
the College of Textiles
The College of
Textiles boasts that it has some of
the most well-rounded students, both academically and socially,
at NC State - not because of a passion for the Wolfpack, but because
of the support attention, and resources given to the students both
inside and outside the classroom.
The College of Textiles' state-of-the-art facility
on NC State's Centennial Campus is the largest of its kind in the
world. The school also has a long tradition of providing strong
financial support to students. On a percentage basis, Textiles
enjoys the largest college-based scholarship program at NC State.
Like Ashley, students can choose to major in textile
and apparel management, textile chemistry, or textile engineering,
in conjunction with the College of Engineering.
Students graduate with a strong emphasis on research,
development, or management. The College operates its own placement
service to assist graduating students as well as Lifetime Placement
Services for alumni.
